On May 3rd, my sweet baby girl made her first holy communion. She was so excited about this milestone, and I was excited for her. I have to say that I think putting her in Catholic school has been one of the very best decisions we have made regarding Hannah. She has bloomed in this school under Mrs. Perlin's guidance. I wish so much that Hannah could have teachers like Mrs. Perlin throughout her school years, but sadly, I don't think she will be that lucky.
Anyway, back to first communion. Hannah got to have the honor of bringing up the wine in the procession of the gifts. She was nervous but did an awesome job. She even took the blood of Christ without making a face! That's my girl.
She is wearing the cross necklace that my parents gave me for my first communion. Hannah was amazed that the necklace was 33 years old. Actually, I'm pretty amazed at that too. I had originally thought that I would have Hannah wear my dress, but lucky girl is thinner than I was and the dress was very outdated and kinda yellow. Here, you can see me in all my 7 year old glory:
Ahh, the good old days. Same church even. How cool is that? And look at how blond I was back then - quite the fashion plate, LOL.Thanks to Grandma and Pa, Nana and Grandpa, Auntie Ruth, Uncle Kim and Essie (Hannah's godparents), Uncle Stephen, Auntie Jenn, Regan, Haley and Michael for coming to Hannah's special day and making it even more special.
