Saving the Bay and meeting the King

it was a busy day in the Life of Stanley today. As part of Hannah's service learning that has to be CA Water Conservation based - we participated in a Save the Bay restoration project where we planted native plants back into the habitat at the Martin Luther King Jr Regional Shoreline in Oakland.

We spent 2 hours planting Purple Needle Grass by the marsh. It was tough because part of the ground is bay fill and so we were digging around concrete chunks and other pretty tough stuff. Here is Hannah and her friend Lizzy working hard.

Then we ran home and picked up Todd and went to meet her Girl Scout Juniors at the de Young museum for the King Tut exhibit. Of course we couldn't take any photos in the exhibit. The artifacts were incredible - there were many different tombs' items, I was really impressed.
We did manage to take a photo of the girls together though.

When we saw King Tut in Philadelphia, a couple days after we got home, Alex asked me "When are we going to see King Tut?" "We just got back from that trip buddy." "Well what does he look like?" "Nobody's exactly sure..." "...SEE! You never met HIM!" LOL
